Eric Stoermer President & Chief Executive Officer
Eric Stoermer joined EOSi as President and CEO in 2004 after four years as a Chicago-based business consultant for McKinsey & Company, Inc. There he advised companies in the telecommunications, retail banking, and insurance sectors on sales and operations issues. He directed sales and marketing for infoUSA (American Business Information), where he was responsible for managing three operating units. He received a B.A. in economics from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Maurice Gutierrez Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Client Programs
Maurice Gutierrez guides the strategic growth of our company and the delivery of technical services to our key clients. He brings to EOSi over 25 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in the water treatment industry. Most recently, he was Vice President, General Manager of Environmental Management Corporation (EMC) where he developed and implemented a business plan to grow EMC’s design, build and operations business, successfully growing the company’s revenue. Maurice began his career in the water treatment industry as a technician and steadily assumed roles of greater responsibility. Prior to EMC, he worked for Drew Chemical/Ashland Water Services, a water treatment chemical and service provider, and Vulcan Chemical Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vulcan Materials serving the food processing, municipal , pulp and paper, oil refineries and other industrial markets. Maurice received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from California State University. Maurice also served honorably in the U.S. Navy as a naval officer.
David Leitch Vice President Finance & Administration
David Leitch joined EOSi in 2014 and brings over 20 years of financial and operational experience to the company. He has held various senior management roles in private equity, venture capital and privately-owned organizations, and has worked in start-up and turn-around organizations in the food industry and various manufacturing environments. Prior to EOSi, he was Vice President of Next Generation Vending, where he managed and led a start-up business segment of the company implementing planned growth and driving profitability. He received a B.A. in accounting from Northeastern University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Samuel Ledwell Vice President of Product and Market Development
Sam Ledwell joined EOSi at the company’s inception in September 2003. He has over 10 years of experience in biological contaminant removal with a specific focus on developing the MicroC® portfolio of carbon sources. Today, Sam manages many of the company's technical initiatives including development of new products, applications, and IP, in addition to evaluating new growth opportunities for EOSi such as acquisitions and other commercial arrangements. He previously worked in the Department of Physical Oceanography at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and in the neurology department at Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds a B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry from Oregon State University and an MBA from Suffolk University.
Mehran Andalib, Ph.D., P.Eng., BCEE Vice President of Process Solutions and Programs
Dr. Mehran Andalib holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Western University in Ontario and has 12 years of experience in wastewater process engineering. His primary area of expertise is wastewater treatment, biological nutrient removal (BNR) processes and optimization of municipal and industrial treatment plants. He is also expert in mathematical modeling of biological processes and dynamic simulations. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) of Ontario and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES). Mehran has led wastewater characterization studies, process analyses, dynamic simulations and optimizations for many municipal and industrial BNR treatment plants to help them meet stringent nitrogen and phosphorus discharge limits. He has written numerous journal articles and a book chapter on the subject of BNR, fluidization and mathematical modeling of water and wastewater treatment. He is an active scholar within the wastewater community in North America, presenting papers at major conferences such as WEFTEC and IWA. Currently, he is the Chair of the WEF Special Activities Committee and an active member of both the WEF Modeling Expert Group of the Americas (MEGA) Committee and the WEF Municipal Wastewater Treatment Design Committee (MWTDC).
Rob Keeling Director of Supply Chain Management
Rob brings over 15 years of experience in supplier development, supply chain management, procurement, and operations. In his role, he manages our supplier development, raw material procurement, risk management, rail car fleet, inbound rail and truck logistics, and new manufacturing site development for our nationwide network of production facilities. He is also instrumental in identifying new materials for use within EOSi products. Rob was previously with the largest biodiesel producer in the United States, where his responsibilities included supplier development, raw material procurement, risk management, biodiesel co-product marketing. Mr. Keeling holds a B.A. in Business Management from Simpson College, and is pursuing his CPSM certification.
Ryan Coleman, P.E., LEED AP Business Manager, Protein
Ryan Coleman has eleven years of wastewater operations and process knowledge as well as hands-on experience in the protein industry. Ryan has managed industrial wastewater treatment plants for several companies in Colorado, Idaho, and Pennsylvania. As an Environmental Manager with Cargill, Inc., he led a series of BNR optimization initiatives that successfully reduced effluent total nitrogen concentrations by more than 97 percent. Ryan has managed the construction and operation of facilities creating renewable, clean energy from dairy waste. Ryan has a B.S. in Environmental Systems Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Engineering from Purdue University with a focus on industrial engineering and engineering economics, and he has an MBA from the University of Indiana's Kelley School of Business. Ryan is also a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Idaho.
Freddy Kade, P.E., M.S. Regional Sales Manager - Western Region
Freddy Kade comes to EOSi with 15 years of wastewater process experience and more than 13 years of Biological Nutrient Removal experience. His previous roles as an Applications Engineer, Product Engineer, Product Manager, and Technology Manager will be invaluable aid in his position as the Regional Sales Manager for the Western Region. Freddy has organized and presented at several workshops and operator shows, throughout the Midwest, discussing simultaneous nitrification/denitrification technologies as well as anaerobic digestion for biological treatment processes and storm flow management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Aleppo University in Syria, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Marquette University in Wisconsin and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Wisconsin.
Mike Saunders Regional Manager, Eastern Region
Mike Saunders has over 20 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry, with a broad range of experience in technical sales, engineering, project management, utility planning, and municipal budgeting. Mike joined EOSi in 2012 after spending 7 years implementing cost-effective wastewater solutions for customers as a National Account Leader with Orenco Systems, Inc. Prior to working in the private sector, Mike spent 10 years as Technical Services Manager for Charlotte County Utilities in Port Charlotte, Florida, managing day-to-day operations of the Technical Services Division for the public water and wastewater utility. Mike has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lakehead University. He has authored several industry-related articles as well as been a featured presenter on a variety of water and wastewater topics.
Maahedi Savvy Account Manager/ Field Engineer, Mid-Atlantic Territory
Maahedi Savvy joined EOSi immediately following his graduation from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in the spring of 2016. At UMBC, Maahedi obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a specialized focus in the Environmental Engineering program. While pursuing his degree, Maahedi was also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and also worked under his professor performing numerous experiments pertaining to water and sediment quality. At EOSi, Maahedi assumed the position of Account Manager and Field Engineer for the Mid-Atlantic territory. His chief responsibility is to retain the existing customer base while also assisting the Territory Manager with new opportunities in the water and wastewater biological contaminant removal market.
Brendan Luther Account Manager/ Field Engineer, Northeast Territory
Brendan joined EOSi as an Account Manager/ Field Engineer after a year in Europe as a Guide and Logistics Specialist in the tourism industry. Brendan graduated from Clemson University in 2014 with a degree in Biosystems Engineering and a minor in Environmental Engineering. Brendan brings with him experience in the environmental compliance sector for water and air pollution from his time working for Alpha Natural Resources, one of the country’s largest coal companies. He also brings a wide range of technical experience, from his undergraduate research in nano-fluids for enhanced oil recovery to co-authoring a paper in Marine Biology while working with The Smithsonian. His primary responsibility at EOSi is to assist customers in the Northeast with their contaminant removal operations, in municipal and industrial wastewater applications.
Evan Brown Account Manager, Southeast Territory
Evan Brown joined EOSi after graduating from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2014. He received his B.S. in Environmental Science and Economics with a concentration in Energy and Sustainability. While in Thailand his senior year, Evan completed and published his capstone research project on the life cycle analysis of various waste-to-energy strategies and their applicability on Thai Islands. At EOSi Evan was initially brought on as a Business Analyst, working with the management team to conduct in depth market research and develop financial reports. At the end of 2016, after a yearlong stretch of managing EOSi's marketing activities, Evan transitioned to the sales team and relocated to Charlotte, NC where he now serves as EOSi's Southeastern Account Manager assisting current customers and working to bring on new opportunities in the water and wastewater industry.
Edris Taher Process Engineer II
Edris Taher holds a Professional Doctorate in Engineering in Bioprocess Design from Delft University of Technology in Netherlands. He has six years of experience in various facets of bioprocess engineering including design, scale-up, operations, validation and project management. Prior to joining EOSi, Edris was a research officer at Columbia University. He is currently a Process Engineer II for EOSi and is responsible for implementing and managing process solutions and programs offered by EOSi.
Mason Burgess Process Engineer II
Mason comes to EOSi’s Field Engineer position with two years of wastewater operation experience in the protein industry. Mason led a series of programs while at Seaboard Foods including upgrades to the laboratory, a full overhaul of the maintenance programs, and a complete redesign of internal environmental reporting procedures. Prior to entering the wastewater field, he spent three years in a research laboratory at the University of Kansas studying mineral precipitation mechanics on specialized microbial and abiotic surfaces. Mason received a B.S. in Geology with a focus in Geochemistry from Kansas State University.
Joseph Donohue Process Automation Engineer
Joseph Donohue joined EOSi’s process solution program team in the summer of 2015. He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. His master’s thesis focused on utilizing open-source hardware for process control in experimental biological nutrient removal systems. While completing his studies, Joseph worked as a research engineer for a Canadian start-up wastewater technology company where he was tasked to scientifically evaluate the performance of an experimental aeration system. Joseph has a very broad technological background and is well versed in a variety hardware and software platforms. He is an active member in the open-source hardware community and a contributor to the Internet of Things movement. His current role at EOSi is as a process automation engineer.
Kathryn Chadwick Process Engineer I
Kathryn Chadwick holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, she worked on a research project for Nepal that focused on wastewater treatment and energy generation. Prior to joining EOSi, she worked as an R&D test engineer at Schneider Electric. Kathryn is currently a Process Engineer for EOSi and is responsible for implementing and managing process solutions and programs offered by EOSi.
Adrian Gutierrez Instrumentation and Control Specialist
Adrian originates from Northern California and recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a B.S. in Management of Information Systems and a minor in Business Finance. Adrian gained a wealth of technical and field experience working for Polarity and Hydroid alongside organizations such as; the US Navy, UK Ministry of Defense, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, and others. Adrian brings the skills essential to manufacturing, integration, troubleshooting, and maintaining military specification products and instrumentation used in land, air, surface, and subsurface sea operations to support the company’s initiative to leverage this capability in our solutions oriented programs. In addition to his defense industry background, during his time at UMass Dartmouth Adrian worked with a number of small New Bedford businesses in the fields of marketing, network design, web development, and database design/implementation. Adrian has assumed the role of Process Control and Instrumentation Specialist and will also have the responsibility of overseeing the optimization of EOSi’s Asset Management Program.
