Senior Lab Technician

The senior laboratory technician will support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program at the corporate headquarters in Pocasset, MA. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Senior Laboratory Technician will support several departments within the organization including Supply Chain, Operations, and QA/QC.

Position: Senior Lab Technician

The senior laboratory technician will support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program at the corporate headquarters in Pocasset, MA. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Senior Laboratory Technician will support several departments within the organization including Supply Chain, Operations, and QA/QC.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily laboratory workflow and the supervision and training of laboratory assistants and/or technicians
  • Support the QA/QC laboratory with daily workload as needed
  • Review and approve Certificate of Analysis (COA) to support the order fulfillment process
  • Operate the GC-FID with headspace, evaluate and report results
  • Determine and communicate blending requirements to manufacturing locations
  • Lead new supplier test requests including the evaluation, reporting, and recommendations of findings
  • Adhere to quality systems procedures including data entry, equipment calibration, proper documentation of activities, etc.


Qualifications:

  • Background in chemistry is preferred
  • B.S. in a chemistry, physical sciences, or applied sciences
  • 3-5 years of experience, postgraduate, in a commercial or research laboratory setting
  • Position requires a well-organized approach to assigned tasks with a strong attention to details
  • Experience with NIR and Gas Chromatography
  • Familiarity with general chemistry laboratory techniques including various titrations and other wet chemistry methods
  • Knowledge of standards preparation, serial dilutions, and sample preparation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills necessary
  • Self-directing individual, strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication skills required
  • Works well in a group and an individual setting; comfortable working in a busy lab environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good Laboratory Practices consistent with Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedures required.
